  • “Amazing and unforgettable trip in Chiang Mai”

Nikhom is best and professional tour guide you can find in Chiang Mai,his kindness and friendly smile made all of us in deep impressed. We spent 2 days in Pai Town and Nikhom was the driver and tour guide,he was very careful and drove us to visit all the beautiful sights on the way to Pai Town and took many amazing photos for us,The most touching us was after we finished dinner we dicided to visit Pai Town’s Night Market,as we know we will spend much time there and then we told Nikhom go back to hotel first and no need to pick us up after we finished visiting and we will go back to hote by ourselves,But unexpected that Nikhom was there waiting for us and said it was too late and have a car to pick up was more safety,we were so touching at that moment. The trip was amzing and unforgettable,we will always remember his kindness,We warmly recommend him for tours in and around Chinang Mai.

  • “Superb trekking experience !”

We spend a couple of days in Chiang Mai, and booked a 2 day trekking with Authentic Thai Tours via the internet. Instant reaction on our mails and questions, and even proposal to pick us up at the train station. Khom was our guide, and together with our 2 kids (6 and 9 years old) we spend 2 days in the jungle. First of all, we went to the local market and bought some food and fruit for the evening and then we started walking. Really great experience! Sometimes difficult path due to the sudden showers and mud, but Khom was always there to help us. Great entertainer with kids, very nice and enthusiastic guy! We did overnight in a local village in the mountains, no tourist trap but a gently and peaceful environment ... !
Don't forget good walking shoes, and enjoy !

  • “a great experience, an exciting trekking”

to be honest,it's my first time to book a private tour.I'm a little worried about the one-day trekking at first.
But when I met Nikhom,I was very sure there was nothing to worry about. His staff and he are very enthusiastic and friendly. He acompanied us all day long, and sent us to the airport very early the next day.(our flight was too early...).Recomendable.

  • “Nikham for the Win!”

Having just a few days in Northern Thailand, and not trusting ourselves to drive ourselves, we found this tour to be the most effective way to see a lot in a small span of time.
Our tour began with Nikham picking us up in his then two day old van. There was a cooler with water and our own A/C controls. We first travelled through the hills of the National Park headed towards the Hot Springs. The Hot Springs were neat, and a good place to stop for a restroom and snacks. However, if you don't need a bathroom break, then I wouldn't suggest stopping.
We then headed to the White Temple (Wat Rong Khun). It was absolutely breathtaking! From there we continued on to the Black Temple (Baan Dam). It is like no other temple you will see in Thailand. The contrast in the two designs is so striking, and really worth stopping! During the ride, Nikham had overheard us talking of our love of the local fruits, so on our return to the car he surprised us with some delicious fruit.
We then had another long drive to the Golden Triangle. We stopped for lunch at a small buffet place. The view was fantastic, but the food was nothing to write home about. From there we went on our 10-15 min boat ride on the Mekong River to a the Laos Island. There is a small market on the island for shopping, and again it's not spectacular. It was more one of those things that is neat to say you did (Mekong River ride and Laos).
From there we drove to the Myanmar border where there is a huge line of cars waiting to enter and there is a fairly large market for shopping. As Nikham said, "Anywhere there is tourists, there is shopping".
During the car ride portions of the tour, we mentioned the Loy Krathong lanterns we had seen in Chiang Mai and expressed interest in buying wine to take home. Again, attentive Nikham stopped and made a secret purchase while we were buying our wine. On our ride back through the mountains, he pulled over and surprised us by helping us send off our own lanterns. Nikham was great about answering our questions, telling us what he knows, and being an overall great guy.

Disclaimer: If you don't like long car rides and have a hard time with accents, this may not be the trip for you. We were gone from 8 am til about 8 pm with a lot of that being spent in the car traveling between locations. Also, while Nikham is proficient in English, he does have an accent. You may just have to ask his answer be repeated. Overall, I found his trip to be a great way to see Thai countryside and learn about some Thai customs, but I must stress there is a lot of car time. Nevertheless, I would do it all again and enjoyed the time spent with Nikham.

  • “Very exciting and nice experience!”

It was an incredible day, sharing with the kind guide of Authentic Thai Tours we rode some Elephant s and took a bath with them in the river.
We swim in a wild stream and sail the river in a stick boat.
    Amazing experience.
    Recomendable.

  • “Great full day of touring - very flexible guide and interesting sights”

The friendly guide / driver (Nikhom) provided a full day of interesting sights. The temples, hot spring, and trip to the Golden Triangle, were very memorable and off the beaten track (not in our guide books). Plan for a full/long day - but worth it, both in time and money. Highly recommend doing a private long-boat tour on the Mekong over to Laos Economic Zone. See the gate to Myanmar. The guide was open to suggestions and timing. Highly recommended!

  • “Great trekking and elephant tour!”
Nikhom and all the rest of the team of Authentic Thai Tours are very kind and made every minute of our time with them comfortable and pleasant. We did a one-day-trekking which was great, and a one-day-elephant tour which was amazing. They adapted the experience at all times to our personal desires. Highly recommendable!

  • “Nikhom and Authentic Thai Tours”

After poor planning on our part, I was referred to Nikhom (Khom) to book an elephant tour. Khom offer to pick us up at the airport (for free) and take us to our hotel. I can't recommend Authentic Thai Tours enough. Not only did Khom help us with the elephant tour which were fully booked for the holidays, we book another tour and spent all of our time in Chiang Mai with him and driver Benz. Both Khom and Benz made sure we had an outstanding time. In addition to the two tours we booked, Khom drove us to Tiger Kingdom and showed us around Chiang Mai. Khom took note to our conversations and would do special little surprises for us…one of them being a bamboo raft ride which we all were excited about. Our last day with Khom we spent 15.5 hours touring and site seeing on our ride back we had all fallen asleep when Khom and Benz pulled over telling us we had arrived back at our hotel. In fact we hadn't arrived at the hotel, Khom and Benz had bought "sky lanterns" and took us to light them and float them into the sky to say goodbye to our time Chiang Mai. It was truly was amazing. Our group of four are not "tourist" type of people. We like being and experiencing local people, places and food. Khom customized the tour to fit our needs and wants. Khom and Benz made us feel like family and treated us to one of the best part of our Thailand vacation. If you are ever in Chiang Mai Authentic Thai Tours is the way to go you won't be disappointed.

  • “A great trek for our family”

We just got back from a 2 day one nite trek to the hillside village with Nikhom. My wife and 2 kids aged 10 and 8 really enjoyed the trek. The 5km walk up hill to the hill tribe was worth every muscle. My kids enjoyed playing with the local kids although they didn't speak English. The food for the dinner was great. Ben, Nikhoms assistant was a great cook and help along the way. The walk down the mountain to the waterfall was harder than going up. Once down the bottom we had an elephant ride, rafting and bamboo ride down the river. The second day was great. I definitely recommend this company for a trek (we did private).
